NEWS This page will be updated at least once a week! (During the racing season.) 10/14 -- The Aikin Motorsports team made the trip to Rolling Wheels Raceway to run with the World of Outlaws. Ed timed 28th of 44 with motor trouble. Starting 7th in the heat Ed moved into 4th and the motor started to lay down with two laps to go and with just 5 feet to the finish line he got past for the last qualifying spot. The team couldn't get the motor to run the rest of the night and end the teams night. The black cloud still hangs over the Aikin Motorsports team. Check back here for the teams remaining schedule for 2009 as soon as its posted! 9/16 -- The Aikin Motorsports team made the trip to Port Royal for the Tuscarora 50. The first time seeing the speedway Ed was able to qualify for the big event. Starting 20th, Ed ran all the laps finishing 14th. It was a good night for the team with a lot of big teams not for this big event. We will be heading back to Lincoln Speedway in a few weeks to finish off our season and hope to see you there! 8/31 -- Ed started on the poll for his heat but was taken out by the #4 of John Rudisill on the first lap. The team was able to get the car fixed for the consolation event with Ed falling one spot shy of qualifying for the twin twenties. With there being some crashes in the first twenty lap feature, Ed was able to start the second feature as the first alternate with Ed finishing 22nd. We will be heading out to Port Royal Speedway for the Tuscarora 50 and hope to see you there! 8/18 -- Ed runs a double header at Lincoln racing running a 410 and 360. Ed won his heat by over a straightaway and then went on to comfortably lead the feature when on lap 11 he lost the brakes finishing 7th. In the URC feature Ed started 18th in the #00 and finished 11th with only one caution flag during the feature. With a little luck we hope to be in victory lane real soon. We will be back in action this Saturday night at Lincoln Speedway and hope to see you there! 8/12 -- Ed grabbed a last minute ride at Williams Grove Speedway driving the Elmer Stoltzfus #00. In his first return back in a URC sprint car Ed finished a strong 7th place in the feature. Saturday night in a time trial show at Lincoln Speedway Ed qualified 28 of 30. Ed qualified through the consolation event and started last in the feature finishing a respectable 15th. We will be back in action this Saturday night at Lincoln Speedway and hope to see you there! 7/21 -- Ed continues to gain on the competition with another great feature finish! Ed finished a strong 2nd in the heat race and grabbed his second fourth place finish in the feature! We will be back in action in two weeks at Lincoln Speedway and hope to see you there! 7/14 -- Ed returns to Saturday night racing at Lincoln Speedway and continues to gain on the competition. Ed ran a smooth heat race collecting his second heat race win of the season. Ed continues his good momentum with a strong 4th place in the feature. We will be back in action this Saturday night at Lincoln Speedway and hope to see you there! 7/1 -- Ed makes a good return to a familiar track for the first time in a 410 sprint car. Ed qualified through the consilation event and started the feature in 23rd spot. After a wild night of racing and a hour and a half rain delay Ed brought the #7 home with a strong 13th place finish. Stay tuned for upcoming schedule. 6/23 -- Ed and the Aikin Motorsports enjoy their best night yet in 410 racing at Lincoln Speedway. Ed ran a strong heat race in route to his first heat race win in a 410. Ed was able to capitalize on his heat race win and followed it up with a strong 6th place finish in the feature just missing out on his first top 5 of the season. The Aikin Motorsports team continue to gain momentum as they work out the bugs in their first year of 410 racing. The team plans to take this Saturday off from Lincoln Speedway and may possibly run the Speed Week show at Grandview Speedway on June 30th. Stay tuned here for updates on the schedule. 6/16 -- The Aikin Motorsports had a rough night and it started with time trials when Ed qualified 32nd. Ed was unable to qualify through the heat and then heavy rains postponed the show for an hour and a half. With the heavy track conditions the team called it a night. Ed and the team will be back in action this week at Lincoln Speedway. Hope to see you all this Saturday night! 6/9 -- The Aikin Motorsports team was the 10th fast car in warmups. Ed and the team struggled with the changing track conditions and were unable to qualify through the heat and then the consolation event. Ed and the team continue to learn each and every week at Lincoln Speedway and hope to turn there luck around soon! Hope to see you all this Saturday night! 6/3 -- The Aikin Motorsports team was back in action at Lincoln Speedway this past weekend and was the 5th fastest car in warm ups. Ed started last in the heat and the consi unable to gain any positions to make the feature event. The #7 team hopes to change its luck and see you all at the Lincoln Speedway this Saturday night! 5/26 -- It was a rough two outings against the World of Outlaws. At Delaware International Speedway Ed broke the rocker arm and sidelined the #7 Aikin Motorsports team until this past Saturday night. Ed and the team traveled to Virginia Motor Speedway where they were unable to qualify. The #7 team is looking for a change in luck and hope to see you all at the Lincoln Speedway this Saturday night! 5/12 -- It was a successful Saturday night for the Aikin Motorsports team this past weekend at Lincoln Speedway. Ed qualified through his heat finishing 6th and then ran all 25 laps in the feature finishing 17th. Ed and the team look forward more track time and the results will continue to improve. Hope to see you all at the Delaware International Speedway this Wednesday night! 4/28 -- After all the repairs were made on in time on the #7 Aikin Motorsports for racing action Saturday night at Lincoln Speedway a new problem surfaced. During the heat an oil leak sidelined Ed for the night. The problem will be fixed and hopefully the luck for the Aikin Motorsports team will turn around this week. We hope to see you at the track this week! 4/21 -- It was a up and down night for the #7 Aikin Motorsports team. Ed had a solid 2nd place finish in the heat race and started on the pole for the feature. While leading the feature got into the marbles and spun out in front of the field and sustained frame damage. Ed finished 22nd in the feature. It will be a long week in the garage with hopes of returning this weekend if repairs are finished in time. 4/14 -- It was a tough first week back at the track after having the motor fixed. Ed was under the weather and was out of handicapping after missing two weeks of action. He was unable to qualify in his heat and fell two spots shy of qualifying for the feature through the consolation event. We look fwd to seeing you back at the track next week with our engine woes fixed as we try to qualify for our first 410 event! 3/26 -- The hard work continues in the Aikin Motorsports shop and the plan is to be back in action next week when the motor work is finished. Hope to see you all next week back at Lincoln Speedway! 3/17 -- Ed started on the pole and was running great until the motor went sour. While slowing down Ed was run over by Chad Layton and flipped him on his side and then caught fire. Ed escaped uninjured but there is alot of work to be done on the car. It will be a long week in the garage for AIKIN Motorsports but we hope to see you all back at Lincoln Speedway next Saturday. We hope to turn our luck soon and thank our fans for all your support! The picture page is being reworked and update soon. 3/10 -- Ed was qualified in his heat before contact with another competitor forced him to the pits with a flat tire. Ed was unable to qualify through the consolation event. Hope to see you all back at Lincoln Speedway this Saturday for our third event! 3/3 -- Ed learned a lot for his first start behind the wheel of his own 410 sprint car and gained valuable experience. Ed missed qualifying for his first show by two cars in the consolation event.
